He was very helpful, but was somewhat frustrated by a lack of communication between the orphanage in Jeremie where Beatrice is now and his office. We learned a lot about the process of getting her to the creche and then on to home with us.
There is a team going from our Church this Friday. Our Executive Pastor, Lance Taylor, and one of the other adoptive fathers are going on this trip. They both have told us separately that they are going to do everything they can to make sure Beatrice's paperwork is in order so that she can move to the creche soon (we were told in February that she was going to be moved the following week).
PLEASE pray that they are successful and safe on their trip, that they can get the needed paperwork and answers about all the children being adopted and that they can ALL be moved to Port-au-Prince soon.
On May 22nd, we hit the one-year mark in the process. There have been many ups and downs, but we know that God is faithful, and our faith has grown greatly. Please pray for us to continue to seek God's face and for patience in watching His hand at work.
We are very excited to get to send Beatrice a video greeting with Cindy speaking in English and Trey "attempting" to say the same thing in Creole. We had trouble with the word "doll." It is either pronounced "poopie," "poopay" or "poop." Ha!
Our friend, Pamela, is going to video tape Beatrice watching our video message! How cool is that?!?!?!? We can't wait to see her response and share it with you once the team returns next week. Another one of our friends on the trip, Chelsea, is taking our Flip Cam and is going to video her several times throughout the week.
Here are some videos of Beatrice we took this past February:
